One of the mantras of our industry is that we become successful by helping others to become successful. Zig Ziglar’s oft quoted saying “Help others to get what they want and you can have anything you want” has become something of a cliché. We all believe it, don’t we?
Reaching that state of mind may take considerable work in the sense of personal development however. It is easy to say we feel this and that the welfare of our team members is paramount – when we are ahead of the game and we have a team that consists of people who are less experienced than we are.

Note that at this point I am not talking about getting him in my business nor am I making any money from him. [click to continue…]

Generating leads; finding the right people to talk to; developing communication and sponsoring skills; these are certainly important. You won’t get far if you can’t build a team. But I knew someone who was good at all these things. Their team grew; lots of new distributors and enthusiasm and then attrition set in and it collapsed. Then more new team members……and the cycle started again. So what was missing? Maybe some of these…..
The following qualities are the foundation blocks on which you build.
Commitment: this is the ‘never give up’ quality that is your first requirement. Never give up on you; your dream; your team. If you don’t have this, you are doomed. But it is also important that your team feels this from you – it will inspire them. [click to continue…]
